MANCHESTER CHAMP SHOW: Sumo wins Open Dog, Dog CC & BOS under top all rounder judge Mr Steve Hall. Critique: Won the CC with lots to spare, would like him a fraction bigger, however, type & balance to my mind are more important to me. Thought his head was so beautiful with the darkest of eyes, his balance gave him an expression to be envied by all, super outline that conveyed strength without coarseness, beauty without being feminine & style that is needed to be a top dog in any breed, expertly prepared & presented. CC.

Well constructed body.
JUNE 2007:
WINDSOR CHAMP SHOW: Breed specialist Mr C Thomas of the famous Nosferatu Akitas awards Sumo his 8th RCC. Critique: Solid coloured almost black, judged this dog as a puppy & still have the same opinion, as 1 excels in head type but can imagine it is hard for some judges to appreciate the qualitiy as it is jet black with no markings to give definition so you have to look that much harder to appreciate the excellent quality of the dog as a whole. Mature male with good substance, heavy bone & excellent type, moves effortlessly, shown to perfection RCC. BORDER UNION CHAMP SHOW: Judge Mrs Jill Hadliegh awards Sumo 1st Open Dog & the Dog CC & BOS!! Critique from Mrs Hadliegh: Black. Well proportioned. Masculine head, well crested neck. Firm topline. I could not have been more pleased with the 2 exhibits and it was an honour to judge both....Quality Akita, thouroughly deserves to have his title, very soundly constructed from head to tail, oozed dominance without being coarse or aggressive, excellently presented, moved in tandem with owner to present most pleasing picture. No hesitation in awarding him RCC. OCTOBER 2006: MIDLAND COUNTIES CHAMP SHOW: Mr M B Webb awards Sumo his 4th RCC. Critique from Mr Webb: A most worthy champion & while not quite the size of 1 he was expertly presented to take advantage of the glamour associated with the breed & one of the best examples of Akita coat type on display, very plush and standing off. His head type is excellent & distinctly Akita, typical well set ears, balanced muzzle to skull, well set eyes presenting a keen alert expression, presented on a strong neck with the required thickening to the base, very soundly constructed throughout with body properties balanced and well covered without the slightest sign of coarseness, excellent angles, complementary tailset completing the picture. A very sound mover. A quality Akita who made a most worthy challenge, it was a pleasure to award him the RCC. RBD. APRIL 2006: WELKS CHAMP SHOW: Mr A Clark (Anshee) awards Sumo 1st Open Dog & the RCC.
